How do I quit in a way that doesn't make things awkward or without feeling guilty for being irresponsible (and I'll admit that I am at least somewhat irresponsible in this circumstance)? Should I just not show up? Should I call in and tell them? Should I text my manager? Should I show up at the store and tell them? Etc, etc. and it feels irresponsible of me to quit after I just got the job, and I'm experiencing a lot of anxiety about it, but I know that I need to leave for my own sake. But hear me out, this is an honest answer. (I understand why I owed them money, its just the principle of "You worked your ass off all day and made one mistake, so you owe us money now.") Also, I'm realizing that I'm gasping for air as I try to organize my personal life for college. I was unfortunate enough to have joined a job that was not right for me in any what-so-ever: difficult career advancement prospects, horrendous culture, people suck, a lot of backstabbing, and anything negative you can possibly think of when in this position. Furthermore, it torrential downpoured upon my head yesterday as I took out the trash and refilled the cans after close, and I then discovered that I was 25 dollars short of what I owed them for money that I collected on their behalf. I had my graduation on Friday and a party on Saturday, so my second day was yesterday (I wanted to start today, but they wanted me to start sooner). Hi, so I started working at Sonic recently, more specifically last Thursday, and I've decided that I hate it. ![]()
